Submission Deadline Extended
We have submisions coming in but we are also hearing that people are almost there and may run out of time!
For folks in Asia, the deadline is anywhere between 5:30 am and 8 am.
Don't worry, we will extend the submission deadline by at least another 12 hours, so you can get some sleep and wrap things up and put your submission in!

[NEW VIDEO] Working with Numerical Values
I am certain all of your projects will involve numbers and I have created and posted a video on how to deal with numerical values in Daml.
Remember that Daml is a flavor or Haskell - a popular functional programming language. You will find some similiar operators, etc. but not all between functional programming and non-functional programming. For example, there is no ++ for incrementing as we are used to in JavaScript, Java, .Net, etc.

Weekly Call for Hackathon [response requested for meeting invite]
Hi All!
As we near the end of the first phase of the hackathon, I would love to set an optional weekly call to cover any discussion that will help you move your project along, for me to get feedback, brainstorm, etc.
Looking at your geographies, I think 2 recurring timeslots starting next week (Sept 27 or 28 depending on where you are) will be able to accommodate a large set of time zones:
(A) Mondays at the following timezones
- 9 AM PST (California, Vancouver)
- 12 PM EST (New York, Florida, Toronto)
- 5 PM GMT (London,…

New Video Posted on How to Assign 2 Signatories
(You are receiving this because you are a registered participant of the 6-week Smart Contract Hackathon on Devpost.com. If this incorrect, please contact support@devpost.com to be unregistered.)
Hi all,
There were some questions about how to assign 2 signatories in a template. Short answer is that you would use the Initiate and Accept pattern. Full documentation on this pattern is found here :https://docs.daml.com/daml/patterns/initaccept.html
I also just posted a new episode about this in the Daml 101 series: https://youtu.be/Q-siwF_qULE
Enjoy!

2 complete Daml walkthroughs now available
We now have two epiodes in the Daml 101 video series in YouTube that walk through simple Daml projects and templates!
The first reverse engineers our skeleton template and walks through the core portions of the .daml file and then re-engineers it with The Lion King story to highlight the functions of the core lines. Check it out here: https://youtu.be/UlBs3F5DjfQ
The second starts with identifying a problem, defining the architecutre and then, using an empty-skeleton template, we write a .daml file from scratch. This is then tested on the Navigator and Sandbox. Check out this video: https://youtu.be/sO6F_CTeOk8
